How to Make 2022 the Best Year Yet!

After a tough few years I think we’re all ready for a good one! Want inspiration for how to make 2022 the best year yet? We’ve got you! Read on for our suggestions!

1. Learn a new skill!

Like learning to TEFL! TEFL is an amazing skill to have, as, once you’ve completed your qualification, you have it for life. So, you can TEFL whenever you want, for however long you want to, with the added bonus of being able to earn money from wherever you happen to be in the world! It’s a no-brainer! It also doesn’t take too long to achieve, so you could be qualified and earning money using your new skill in as little as 2 months!

2. Visit a new place!

We know that COVID-19 has ruined a lot of travel plans over the last few years but a number of countries are actually dealing with the pandemic very effectively! Get them on your travel list for 2022, so you can fill up your passport and widen your horizons safely! Two of the key countries that should be on your list are Thailand and South Korea. Both are amazing destinations that have a wealth of TEFL positions available! Already TEFL qualified and want to check out the jobs available in these countries? Head over to our LoveTEFL jobs board for the latest vacancies. Want a more supported way of travelling to these countries, while still being able to earn money when you get there? 3. Increase your earnings!

Want to earn more money so you have more freedom to do the things you really want to? Don’t we all! But how can you achieve this? Well, specialising in certain subjects as a TEFL teacher can help you to attain those higher wage brackets. Things like IELTS training and Business English are always in high demand and tend to be well paid positions!

Already TEFL qualified but want to be able to specialise? You can choose one (or more!) of our course add-ons for the areas you want to get in to. Check out our specialist course page for all the options we have available (and there are lots!).

Another way of increasing your earnings is going freelance! Freelance teaching, whether it’s online or setting up your own school, is a great way to work as you have full control of your calendar and your rates, which you can increase as your teaching skills and knowledge increase. Although it might take a bit more hard work and self-marketing at the start, to build up your pool of students, it really is worth the effort. 4. Start working on that bucket list!

Have you got a list somewhere of all the things you’ve always wanted to do or see? Well then, no more waiting! Make this the year you actually get round to doing some of them. (Like following your dream of becoming a TEFL teacher!) You’ll get a real feeling of achievement as you check things off your list and, who knows, you might discover even more things to add to it along the way!

5. Learn to keep yourself calm and relaxed!

The path to becoming a chilled-out person, with all the challenges life throws at you, is not an easy one! Especially when the last few years have been chock-a-block full of stress and uncertainty…. But, don’t despair! There is a way to help yourself, and others, achieve some much-needed calm and focus in these stressful times. How, you ask? Well, one way is through practices like yoga and mindfulness (aka meditation). Once you become skilled in these practices, they will be useful for the rest of your life and, lucky for you, we happen to have some courses in yoga and mindfulness! These short courses will help you learn how to keep yourself, and your class of students, calm and focused, so you can all get more out of the teaching/learning experience. You will also be able to take these skills outside of the classroom and apply them to your everyday life, so everything will get a lot easier to handle!

We hope these help you to make 2022 the best year yet and that you achieve everything you want to this year!
