1.Research your options
If you’re looking to start your TEFL adventure, then teaching abroad is a great place to begin. From Chile to China and South Korea to Spain there’s heaps of opportunities available to you! With so many TEFL providers out there it can be pretty tricky finding a TEFL Course to suit your needs. But don’t worry, we’ve got your back! 2. Weigh up your options and speak to an expert
So, you’ve done a bit of research and have found the perfect TEFL provider for you but what’s next? When it comes to teaching English abroad there’s heaps of information you’ll need to know. Speaking to a TEEFL expert is a great way to put your worries at bay as you can fire off any last-minute questions you may have. Plus, they can give you hints, tips, and suggestions on TEFL Courses and popular destinations – yes please!
Before you embark on your TEFL journey, you might want to ask yourself a couple of question such as:
- Where do I want to teach?
- What qualifications do I need?
- What type of TEFL is required to teach there?
Once you’ve nailed these top three questions, you’ll be more than ready to move on to the next step!
3. Get TEFL qualified
To kickstart your 2021 teaching abroad adventure, you’ll need to become TEFL qualified. This means studying one of our Level 3 or Level 5 TEFL Courses. From our 120-hour Level 3 Course all the way up to our Level 5 TEFL Diploma, there’s plenty to choose from! 5. Start looking for your dream TEFL job
Your TEFL certification will open up a world of opportunities so don’t be afraid to put yourself out there! From Asia to Africa and Latin America to Europe, there are heaps of amazing teaching positions available to you. But how do you get started? Believe it or not, it’s a lot simpler than it seems! You can find some fantastic teaching roles abroad through online jobs boards. 6. Make your travel and visa arrangements
Before you head abroad there’s just a couple of things you need to do. Making travel and visa arrangements might not be the most exciting task but it’ll save you time and money in the long-run – winner! Nobody wants to be caught off guard so make sure you have the right documentation you need before you head overseas. From visas and flights to legal work permits, there’s a lot to remember but we promise it’s 100% worth it!
7. Start your TEFL adventure
You’ve smashed your TEFL Course and have landed a top TEFL job, now all that’s left to do is explore. You’re about to embark on the most incredible adventure so enjoy every second of it! You’re going to be the most amazing TEFL teacher so don’t be afraid to get started. It’s about time you believed in yourself!
